Affiliations
So..what exactly is an affiliate?
Basically, anyone who represents another’s product and receives some form of compensation is an affiliate. A salesman, in other words. If you’re using the internet to make buying decisions, you should be aware that almost everyone is an affiliate or offers an affiliate program (even Amazon).
You can rest assured, however, that if I recommend any product on this website, I consider that product to be of high quality, a good value, or otherwise worth promoting to people who may rely on my recommendations.
(Please make my lawyer happy and read my disclaimer to understand what that means.)
As required by the FTC:
MATERIAL CONNECTION DISCLOSURE: You should assume that the owner of this website has an affiliate relationship and/or another material connection to the providers of goods and services mentioned on these pages and may be compensated when you purchase from a provider. You should always perform due diligence before buying goods or services from anyone via the Internet or offline.
Oddly enough, once a lot of internet users become aware of “affiliate links,” they’ll avoid using them and instead type the company’s URL/web address directly into their browser. Apparently, they feel they’ve very cleverly saved money themselves or for the company selling the product. Or maybe avoided some kind of scam.
You should know that is not the case. Many companies rely on affiliates to bring them customers and include the cost of “commissions” in the sales price of their products. And in some cases, their affiliates can offer discounts that aren’t available through the main website.
You found my website for a reason, and I hope you’ve gained something from the content I’ve provided. For that reason, I encourage you to use my banners and/or other affiliate links when you decide to check out a product website further.
It’s a way of thanking me for my time and effort. And it won’t cost you even one penny. In fact, I’m able to offer discounts and special sales from time to time (look for the banners).
I truly appreciate your support.
